Athletic Mouth Guards

Reduce the chances of oral injuries while playing sports with one of our protective mouthguards. It’s estimated that between 13 and 39% of all dental injuries occur while playing sports. Additionally, over 200,000 teeth and mouth injuries have been prevented by mouth guards being made mandatory in American football.

However, tooth and mouth injuries do not end with contact sports. Recent studies have found that athletes who play sports like basketball are just as likely to suffer injuries to the face, mouth, and teeth. Sports involving balls, hoops, goals, and other playing surfaces can all lead to mouth injuries from contact.

Protecting your teeth with an athletic mouthguard is a great way to protect your oral health. Dr. Brandon Morgan will custom fit a guard to keep you safe.

Night Guards

If you or a loved one are unconsciously grinding your teeth while asleep, you may have a condition known as bruxism. This condition can cause long term damage to your teeth if ignored, so consider choosing night guards. Night guards can prevent this involuntary grinding and prevent damage to your teeth.

Nightguards are removable appliances similar to athletic mouthguards. They provide a sturdy barrier between your top and bottom teeth to prevent them from grinding together while you sleep. Night guards from Dr. Brandon Morgan are custom fitted and will help ensure your comfort and safety. A proper fit prevents wear and tear on your teeth, irritation to your gums, damage to your enamel and pain in your jaw.

During your appointment Dr. Brandon Morgan will discuss other ways to help reduce night grinding. Some things to avoid may include:

  • Chewing gum
  • Alcohol
  • Caffeine

All of these increase the risk of grinding. If you suspect any issues with teeth grinding, contact our office today for an appointment.
